Head Over Heels

When I awoke the next morning, I had multiple texts to answer. One was Neal saying that he was heading home after an uneventful few hours of sitting outside my house. Mostly because I knew exactly what was going to happen if he came up to my room and it didn’t involve the toy I had to remove when I first got home. The conversation of me needing a bit more time to work on forgiving him went a lot easier than I thought it would. Which would give me time to hash out a whole new plan because as it stood right now I didn’t have one. Just the end game.

The other text was from Cameron about tonight’s date. According to him, he wouldn’t be picking me up until five pm, a little early and that I should plan to stay out all night with him. It would work since I don’t have to watch my nephew until Wednesday evening for her overnight shift. However, I could no longer use Veronica as an ally and telling Linda about my date would lead to a whole lot of sex talk that I really didn’t want to have with her.

Another one was from Justin. He’d be here to ‘hang out’ for a few hours as long as I didn’t stab him this time. Short and sweet. I wasn’t sure when his few hours were going to start so hopping in the shower was my first priority.

I sent texts replying to all of them before jumping out of bed and into my shower. Thinking of what I was going to tell my Uncle when yet another man showed up at our front door. Would he also be covering up his tattoos like Neal did? Doubt it. My uncle is a bit more conservative than Linda even though he doesn’t do much to support his family like most conservatives.

My phone dinged but I ignored it, enjoying the water as it rained over my body. Releasing the tight muscles that had been wound up all last night. Between the new toy I now had in my bedside drawer and Neal working me up my muscles surely needed a massage. I wondered if I could talk mister cold, dark and broody when he got here into giving me one. Worth a shot.

I knew it was time to get out when my phone started to ring multiple times. It was probably just Justin calling to tell me that he was here. Yet when I stepped out of the shower and wrapped myself in my towel the name popped up again. It was Brad. There were already two voicemails ready to listen to.

Hitting the red button as I continued to dry myself off and get dressed. Until there came a knock on my door. All the tight muscles I managed to unwind during my shower just tensed right back up.

“Cassie, Dad says your friend is here!” came Lincoln’s voice.

“Tell him I’ll be down in a minute!” I called back to him through the bathroom door.
